Summary //
I heard about Cafe Velvet from a post by The Sweetest Way. The cafe is located just across the street from Pergamino, where we’d just been the day before. When we arrived, there was only one other person in the cafe, and we felt a little awkward as we ordered from the register (it was not clear whether we would have a server or not).
By around 10 AM, the cafe was full of people like us, drinking coffee and tapping away on their laptops (people ordered from both the register and from their server, btw). We sat inside near the back patio and loved the botanical vibe.
I accidentally ordered hot chocolate (chocolatte) which I thought was a mocha, so I didn’t actually have coffee there! Kenny got the Cold Brew and said it was pretty good. The drinks and view were beautiful though, and we did really enjoy our morning.
Cafe Velvet was a great place to work, with good coffee and an airy atmosphere. It did not feel as relaxed as other places we’d been, which is why it doesn’t fall at the very top of my list in many categories. It was hard not to compare it to Pergamino, which was similar but had more of a laid back vibe and seemed to have way more backpackers (aka gringos who didn’t speak Spanish either).
